Gross Necropsy: (no photos)
The lungs were loosely adhered to the thoracic body wall by multiple strands of fibrin. The lungs were diffusely edematous and firm.

History:
A 2 year old  male castrated Siberian Husky with history of anorexia for an indeterminate amount of time and began vomiting 2 weeks before time of death.
Radiographs:  Diffuse hepatomegaly and splenomegaly, pleural effusion, mediastinal lymphadenopathy, pulmonary alveolar disease and a tracheobronchial mass.

A 3 week old DSH kitten died suddenly after 2 days of diarrhea.

Differential Diagnosis for Multifocal liver necrosis in a kitten:
Viral:
FIP
Bacterial:
Salmonellosis
Tularemia
Yersinia spp
Nocardia spp
E. coli
Clostridium piliforme
Protozoal:
Toxoplasma gondii
Fungal:
Histoplasmosis
